Prayer To A Vengeful God

James Parsons attended Northwestern University and received a BA in English in 1995. He sent himself to “film school” 10 years later as an intern and camera production assistant on Inside Man. He has continued his apprenticeship as a camera and production PA on feature films and television series, including Munich (2005), The Pleasure of Your Company (2006), I Am Legend (2007), Fringe (2008-09), Damages (2010), and many others.

James joined the Insurgent Pictures team as Assistant Camera on JailCity (2006), and returned as Camera Operator on The Local (2008). Prayer to a Vengeful God marks James’s feature debut as a Director of Photography.

James was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and spent 18 years in Atlanta. He has lived in Brooklyn, NY, since 2000. His parents, Jim and Eileen currently live near his brother, Timothy, in York, PA, and he visits them every chance he gets.
